TeslaCake started in 2010 as a creative outlet — a world built with a friend who handled the business side while I handled everything visual. The concept: a group of adventurers exploring uncharted parts of the world and beyond, encountering characters like Hedron, an inter-dimensional astronaut, and Gentleman Stratus Cloud, an Oxford man at heart who rests in the valleys of the Great Smoky Mountains.
What started as illustration work quickly grew into a full merchandise operation. We designed and sold t-shirts, totes, stickers, buttons, and more at conventions and fairs across the region. I also created inflatable versions of our characters for events. The Expedition Series documented TeslaCake's adventures visually — a narrative told through illustration across multiple prints. Every piece of product, every character, every world detail came from the same place: genuine love of making things.
